Contaminated chicken products recall

Chicken recall issued for possible listeria contamination in these products

Al-Safa US, a Canadian company, has issued a recall for approximately 2,010 pounds of imported frozen ready-to-eat chicken products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recalled products include:
  • 12.1-oz. cardboard box packages of Al Safa Halal.
  • Charcoal Grilled Chicken Seekh Kebab Grilled, Minced, Chicken Patty Kebab.
  • 14.11-oz. cardboard box packages of Al Safa Halal.
  • Fully Cooked Chicken Chapli Kebab Seasoned Chicken Patty.

The products were produced on June 5, 2024 in Canada and imported to the U.S. on June 13 and 21, 2024. They bear the establishment number "866" inside the Canadian mark of inspection and were distributed nationwide.
The recall was initiated after routine FSIS testing indicated the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, pregnant women, newborns, and those with weakened immune systems.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products should not consume them and should either return them or discard them.
